St. Lucia, a small tourist town, is the ideal hub from where to discover the diverse fauna and flora of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi game reserve.
Along with the Serengeti, Kruger National Park must be one of Africa's most iconic safari destinations.
It is home to an astounding diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion & rhino.)
And of all African wildlife parks, Kruger has to be the most well-equipped and maintained park making it an ideal self-drive safari destination.
South Africa's R532 - in the north-east, not too far from Kruger National Park - is dubbed the Panorama Route.
With good reason: it offers some of the best South-African landscapes at the many viewpoints along the way.
Friends who learned about our plans to visit Croatia were quick to recommend the Plitvice Lakes, easily Croatia's most famous national park.
On an area of only a few km² are 16 of the most beautiful lakes and I don't know how many waterfalls.
Too much to count!
The national park is a lot bigger, but let's be honest, you're only coming for the lakes.
A good 2 hours north of Vancouver, along the most scenic Sea To Sky Highway, lie Whistler & Blackcomb, 2 mountains that make up one of the most renowned ski destinations & the largest ski resort in North America.
The resort hosted most of the 2010 Winter Olympics events.
Vancouver is the gateway to outdoor activities as it is surrounded by some of Canada's best nature.
But even if you're no great adventurer, this progressive & ethnically diverse city in western Canada and very close to USA's north border is worthy of a visit.
I hadn't really made any plans yet when I was in Zürich for a few days, but the hotel was in such a nice location that I couldn't not go for a quick walk. I kept going for as long as the scenery was pretty and didn't realize I was hiking up Zürich's highest mountain, the Üetliberg. It ended up being a pretty good hike with spectacular views abound.
California's Yosemite National Park, one of the first national parks, is magical with its enormous cliffs & domes, waterfalls & giant sequoia trees.
As I marvel the beauty of this place, I can't help but wonder what it must've been like for the first people to arrive in the valley.
Alcatraz, nicknamed The Rock, needs no introduction.
It has a reputation, it's a place of legends.
It's been featured in a ton of movies & tv series.
Naturally, it was at the top of my list when I was in San Francisco, and it did not disappoint!
