Our tour in Croatia was amazing and so was Split.
It's not as unique as, say, Dubrovnik, which almost seems stuck in medieval times.
While Split has a lot of history (with Diocletian's Palace), it is a modern city and - unlike Dubrovnik - it's not overrun by tourists, although you'll still find a ton of them.
Saint-Tropez used to be a small fishing town, but since Brigitte Bardot in the 1950, it's become the playground of the jet set.
I didn't really like it. It's a nice little town, but there's plenty others like it around here.
Although it's a relatively small city (with a population of 70k), Cannes is known around the world for the Film Festival in May, when it's the place to be for actors, celebrities and everyone that matters - and their fans.
I was there in late July and last I checked, I'm not famous nor rich.
When I think of travel, I think of adventure. Or a citytrip to soak up the local culture and hop from landmark to landmark.
Relaxing at the beach is not what I'd usually seek out, but I did when I visited Paphos.
And let me tell you, there was no shortage of sun & beaches!
